Dear Parents/Carers,
As we approach Spring, we would like to let you know some of our themes
over the next few weeks.
This week our theme will be shopping. Ways to support this could be looking at
coins with your child, making a shopping list, going to the shop and allowing
them to find and pay for some items. We always like to see photos of any
activities the children do so please feel free to bring some in.
We will also be learning about Easter and Spring and talking about farm
animals and their babies.
Next week is Sign Language week so your children may learn some signs they
can share with you at home.

Fundraising
As you may know Lysander is a registered Charity and is non-profit making.
This means that any items we purchase must come from fundraising. If anyone
has any ideas to raise money or has contacts with local companies that may be
able to help, then please let us know. You can also help by purchasing items
from our Amazon wish list. We have had some lovely items over the last year
that the children have loved using. The link for this is
Thank you as well for all your donations of tissues, craft items, soap etc.
Child’s Progress Meetings
We will soon be inviting you in to meet with your child’s key person to discuss
how they are getting on with their development. If you have any questions or
concerns, please feel free to talk about it at the meeting.
Visits
We like to arrange different visitors to come in and talk to the children about
their jobs. In the past we have had fire officers, paramedics, police officers,
musicians etc. If you or someone you know has something they could come in
and share with the children, we would love to hear from you.
Snack Time
Just a reminder that items that may cause allergies such as nuts, egg, sesame
are not allowed at Preschool. We do not allow chocolate bars or sweets and
would encourage healthy snacks. We also ask that all fruit is cut up before
being sent in. Grapes and small fruits need to be cut length ways to avoid a
choking hazard. Please make sure your child’s water bottle is named.
Family photos
We still need quite a few family photos for our wall so please bring one in if
you haven’t already.
September
After Easter we will be asking you if your child requires a place for September.
We often have children stay with us until they go on to Reception, so this is
something worth considering for your child. If you know anyone that may need
a place in Sept, please encourage them to call and find out about us. We would
ask military families to spread the word with new families moving in
Thank you for your continued support,
Jean, Faye, Melissa and Gemma.
