Lysander Preschool Autumn Term 2023 Newsletter

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

We would like to share some information with you for the rest of the term.

Christmas Jumper Day

On Thursday 7th Dec we will be celebrating Christmas Jumper Day. If you would like to donate to help preschool, we would ask for boxes of tissues and anti-bacterial spray to be brought in on the day. Another way to help donate is to buy a gift on our amazon wish list. Please click on the link below to look. https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3KU19G6B70K8?ref_=wl_share

Christmas Party

We will be holding our Christmas party on Tuesday 19th Dec. All children are welcome even if it is not their normal day. Each child needs to have a wrapped present to the maximum value of £10 with their name on which they will receive from Santa at the party. We would ask that they could be brought in by Wednesday 13th December. On the day we ask that each child brings in a party lunch of their own this can be brought in a small named Christmas box or wrapped plate. We would ask, as usual no items that could affect allergies such as nuts and eggs. At 12pm we invite you to come along to sing a few Christmas songs with the children. As they are so little, we will be all be taking part together rather than it being a performance.

Winter clothing

As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child brings in a warm coat, hat and gloves. We try and get outside every day to play. Please make sure everything is named. It is helpful to leave hats and gloves at Preschool, so they are always available.

Tapestry

You should have now received an activation email to set up your account to view your child’s tapestry. On this you can view your child’s report and look at what they get up to. If you receive a report, please read, and sign it. We will then send you a PDF to print if you wish.

Jewellery

We have had quite a few children wearing earrings and other jewellery to Preschool. Our health and safety policy states: Parents must ensure that any jewellery worn by children poses no danger, particularly earrings which may get pulled, bracelets that caught when climbing or necklaces that may pose a risk of strangulation. We would ask that only studded earrings are worn.

Term Dates

We finish on Wednesday 20th December and return on Monday 8th January.

Half term is Monday 12th February to Friday 16th February.

Easter Holidays is Fri 29th March returning Monday 15th April.

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Jean, Faye, Melissa and Gemma.
