Coronation Celebration
This week we will be talking to the children about the Coronation. On Friday 5 th May we will
be having a tea party with the children. On that day they are welcome to wear red, white,
and blue. Each child can bring in some treats to have at snack time. We will be putting their
food on a paper plate. Hopefully if the weather is nice, we will be able to eat outside.
Tombola
Thank you so much to Charlotte Bradley for organising our fundraising raffle. She worked so
hard in a short amount of time to organise this. Thank you to everyone who sold and
bought tickets. We were so happy to raise a significant amount. We will now use this to buy
new items for the children to enjoy. As we now pay rent on our building it means we are
very limited on money to purchase new items so this money will provide some much-
needed funds.
Behaviour and kindness to others
We spend a lot of time talking to the children about being kind, sharing and taking turns and
listening to adults and each other. At this young age children are learning and developing
their personal, social, and emotional skills. As we have children from 2 years up to 4 years,
they are all at varying stages of this development. We will be encouraging our older
children who are transitioning to school to talk about the rules we need to follow to keep us
safe at Preschool and how they can show our younger children what they are.
As we are an inclusive preschool, we have children coming to us with all sorts of different
needs and abilities. We work hard to help the children understand that we are all different
and that we need to all help each other and be kind. We encourage the children to come
and tell us if they are having a problem with one of their peers and will work with them to
resolve the issue.
We use feelings puppets, stories, and games to help children understand what can make us
feel happy, sad, angry, scared etc. We also use sand timers to encourage turn taking and
have a calm down corner where children can take time to regulate their feelings.
If there is an incident between children that we are aware of we will always let both parties
know and encourage discussion and understanding at home.
If you ever have any concerns, please feel free to arrange a time to come in and have a chat
to us. We are not however able to name children involved in incidents as that information is
confidential.
We would ask you reinforce at home the importance of being kind to all and understanding
each other’s differences.
Amazon Wishlist
We are always so grateful for any items from our Amazon wish list. For any new parents that
may have not seen this before please see the link below.
Summer Clothing
As the weather starts to turn warmer, we would ask that you provide your child with a
named sunhat that ideally can be left at Preschool. We would also ask that you put sun
cream on your children before arrival and make sure they have a named water bottle. We
would also that shoes are not open toed.

We are closed Monday 1 st May and Monday 8 th May for Bank Holidays
We then close for half term on Thursday 25 th May.
We return on Monday 5 th June.
Thank you for all your continued support,
